January 2011

Where has the time gone? It seems like just yesterday I was interviewing for my position. What a fantastic year 2010 was for the FAEP! All of our events were a huge success, from the Breeding Soundness Short Course to the Wound Management Course with Dr. Stashak, the UF Student Appreciation Day and finally, the Promoting Excellence Symposium including the SOLD OUT Imaging Wet Lab.
Going into 2011 we currently have 205 members that support the FAEP and believe in our mission of quality equine CE.
The success of the FAEP comes from the support of you, the member, and the hard work from the board of directors and everyone that serves on a committee. These members give countless hours of voluntary services to the association for the cause and for you! If you know one of these hard working members, please thank them for their efforts.
Along with the board and committee that serve the FAEP we could not put on these events without the support of the Industry Council. Please support the people and companies that support us!
As we move into 2011 there are big changes coming to the FAEP with the pending merger with the FVMA. Even though we are merging, we are still moving full stride ahead with our CE events for 2011. The Foot Symposium in Orlando July 22nd & 23rd and the 7th annual FAEP 2011 Promoting Excellence in the Southeast Symposium. ADVANCED EQUINE SPORTS MEDICINE: Diagnostics, Therapeutics, and Rehabilitative Therapies. September 29-October 2, 2011 at The Omni Resorts Amelia Island Plantation.
Other wet labs are still in the planning stages at this time so please watch our website for breaking news. www.faep.net
I can't thank everyone enough for my first year as your ED. It has definitely been a challenge and an experience getting to know everyone on the board and the IC. I feel confident that we will make great strides in 2011.
Respectfully Submitted
Eric A. Nygaard, CJF
FAEP Executive Director
