The FAEP is proud to present our 6th Annual Promoting Excellence Symposium. The 2010 symposium is offering word class speakers, with in depth coverage on lameness and sports medicine in the equine athlete. All of this is offered in the resort setting of the beautiful Rosen Shingle Creek. Our speakers include Drs. Jim Robertson, David Frisbie, Mary Beth Whitcomb, Bob Harmon, Steve Reed, Doug Byars, and Dirk Vanderwall. In addition to world class speakers, we also plan to feature you, the practitioner, with an interactive How To session added to this year’s meeting!

Our 2010 Program is also offering an in depth Imaging Wet Lab featuring our Symposium speakers on Sunday, November 7th. Further details on that program to come!

Speakers and topics include:
Dr. David Frisbie Stem Cells in Arthritis and Soft Tissue Injuries and Medications for Management of Joint Pain in The Equine Athlete
Dr. Bob Harman Evidenced-based stem cell therapy in equine orthopedics - a review
Dr. Jim Robertson The Dynamic Scope and Upper Respiratory Disease of the Equine Athlete
Dr. Mary Beth Whitcomb Maximizing the value of intralesional injections
The first half of the presentation will focus on the accurate diagnosis of distal limb (metacarpus/metatarsus/pastern) injuries, including how to avoid common ultrasonographic misinterpretations. The second half will focus on tips to improve accuracy of ultrasound guided injections.
